Wyoming Senator Asked to Resign After Alleged Anti-homosexual Comments

CHEYENNE, Wyo. According to reports, members of the LGBTQ advocacy group Wyoming Equality filed a complaint with legislative leaders last week about remarks senator Lynn Hutchings reportedly made to high school students visiting during the legislative session.

Democratic party chairman Joe Barbuto called for Hutchings resignation.

Part of a statement made by Senate leaders said they will work to vet and address complaints filed against members.

Both senator Hutchings and the students deserve fair consideration and respect as they address the matter.

An informal complaint was filed by the board of directors off Wyoming Equality on behalf of GSA students.

Per policy and rule of the legislator, complaints filed against individual members and proceeding that follow are confidential.
