Wyoming Lawmakers Consider Banning Death Penalty

CHEYENNE, Wyo. Senator Brian Boner and Representative Jared Olsen teamed up, introducing legislation to abolish Capital Punishment in Wyoming.

They say it is ineffective and takes too much money from the state, costing the public defender about 750,000 a year.

“This is an attempt at deterrence that does not work. It hasn’t worked for almost three decades. And it’s about time that we remove this unnecessary expense on our state government.” Said Senator Brian Boner.

Wyoming's last execution was in 1992.
