Winter Driving Safety

CASPER, Wyo. Our risk of becoming stranded on the road increases during winter.

We're encouraged to keep an emergency kit our cars, with supplies to last a least in three days, including water, blankets, medication, and a fully charged cell phone.

An important part of the plan is to check weather conditions before heading out.

"Make a travel plan and let people know when you're leaving when you arrive, and always give yourself more time and be very cautious. Just remember that just because you have four wheel drive does not mean you have four-wheel stop." Explained Dane Andersen of the Casper Fire Department.

Another way to be prepared is by having a full tank of gas.
