WHP Trooper Placed On Administrative Leave During Investigation

A Wyoming Highway Patrol employee has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an ongoing investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department and an administrative internal investigation by the Wyoming Highway Patrol's Professional Standards and Conduct Division.

Robert King, a Cheyenne area WHP Trooper since December of 2008, was placed on leave back on February 17th after the WHP was contacted by the Cheyenne Police Department and made aware of an investigation involving Mr. King.

It is standard Wyoming Highway Patrol policy to place an employee on leave when any WHP member is being investigated by an outside law enforcement agency.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is assisting the Cheyenne Police Department with the investigation.

As the Cheyenne Police Department is the primary investigating agency, the Wyoming Highway Patrol cannot comment on the details of the investigation.
