UW Students Push to Prevent Future Sexual Assaults on Campus

Several University of Wyoming students walked out of class Monday.

They then gathered to show support for sexual assault victims as many questioned how university officials handle sexual assault claims.

Reports show the students marched across campus to deliver a signed petition to the Old Main building here the University of Wyoming President, Laurie Nichols' office is located.

The petition demanded the university do more to prevent sexual assault and help survivors.

This comes after campus police reported an assault on the campus earlier this month.

University police say a female victim was walking across a parking lot when an unknown suspect tackled and sexually assaulted her.
