CASPER, Wyo. The original request for proposals on the purchase and redevelopment of the former Plains Furniture properties left out the parking lot.
Originally, they didn't want to sell it to allow for more parking in the community.
However, an addendum was made giving buyers the option to purchase the lot as well.
"We have since had a long-term lease with the state for the Goodstein parking lot which is right across from the office and Rocca's downtown. So there is ample parking and we didn't want to push anybody away from buying the plains building but then worried about parking." Explained Jesse Morgan, a Casper city council member.
The lot is over 16 thousand square feet.
Council Members believe the additional property could enhance potential development proposals.
