Teton County Launches New Site to Notify the Public

A new website for Teton County went live over the weekend, representing the completion of a project that has been in process for over a year.

Following staff training in August, final adjustments and finishing touches on content were recently completed, and the Information Technology (IT) Division made the formal switch to the new website late last week.

The old website address, www.tetonwyo.org, has been replaced by www.tetoncountywy.gov. Traffic from www.tetonwyo.org will redirect to the new address for as long as necessary to thoroughly inform the public of the new URL.

“One of the most important goals of this process was to make the new website as accessible and easy to navigate as possible,” said Todd Fletcher, Teton County IT Manager.

“We wanted to create a more convenient customer experience for anyone visiting the County’s website, whether they want to see the latest agenda for a County Commission meeting, pay their property taxes, or find out how to apply for a volunteer board.”

One new function allows anyone who visits the website to utilize a service called “Notify Me”, which lets the user pick and choose notifications from specific departments and divisions, either via email or text to a mobile phone.

Notifications include agenda postings, job opportunities, bid postings for contractors, official calendar postings for County Government meetings and events, and “News Flashes” from specific departments.

Anyone who visits the website can click on the “Notify Me” icon located just under the calendar on the home page and customize their preferred notifications.

In addition to the “Notify Me” function, visitors have the option to create a personalized account on the website that can be customized to enhance and personalize the experience for every user.

“We want the user experience to be customized, efficient, and useful,” said Fletcher. “Our hope is that the new website will provide increased transparency and insight to how the County operates, and the tools it offers will result in more responsive and effective customer service.”
