Proposed New Penalties for not Stopping at School bus Stop Signs

CHEYENNE, Wyo. The bill unanimously passed the Senate education committee Friday.

If it becomes law, the owner of the car seen driving through a school bus stop sign would be fined 195 dollars.

Wyoming school buses have cameras to catch violators, but current law forces officials to find the identity of the driver, making it challenging to enforce.

The penalty is similar to a parking ticket.
