This morning a Casper woman was sentenced to probation and ordered to pay more than nineteen thousand dollars back to the City of Casper.

Court papers say Heather Kirkendall previously worked in the Casper’s Community Development Division and collected more the funds from the city for her personal use.

Papers show there were a total of 187 discrepancies on bank reports, which added up to $19,403.75.

In May Kirkendall pleaded guilty to larceny and will now serve three years of probation for the crimes.

Casper’s Community Development Director Liz Becher told the court, Kirkendall violated Casper citizens' trust and victimized the whole city and the department.

Before Kirkendall was sentenced, she declined to make a public comment about her crime.
