New Fees Have Been Suggested For Business Owners in Casper

CASPER, Wyo. County Fire Protection District officials proposed adopting the 2018 International Fire Code at Tuesdays County Commision work session.

In it, fire officials proposed requiring an operating permit for businesses.

Depending on the size of the business and what it does a fee could come with the required inspection.

"We're looking at changing that for accountability reasons so we know what businesses are in our county, what products are they carrying, what products do they have, how much of the product do they have, and is it a safe thing." Explained Inspector Matt Gacke, the NCFPD Spokesperson.

Gacke says fees would generally be in the hundreds, though it depends on the size of the business.

Commissioners seemed hesitant to approve the new permits but will continue discussing the issue.
