On January 31st Mills Police Officers observed a vehicle exit the Oregon Trail Bar in Mills without stopping at and nearly colliding with the front of a patrol car.

Reports show the driver made eye contact with the officer and he noticed the driver was not wearing a seat-belt.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver accelerated away. The officer noted the driver collided with a curb near Lakeview drive.

Reports show the driver continued to elude police and turned onto Lafayette street and the officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

The officer did notice some skid marks into Layfette trailer court, where the officer located the vehicle parked with its lights on but the driver was no longer inside.

Reports show skid marks on the pavement and a strong odor of burning rubber.

The officer checked the vehicle and saw a bottle of vodka on the passenger side floorboard.

Reports show a tow truck was called in to tow the vehicle and the driver, identified as Glenn Weir stumbled out of the residence and cussed at the officer, took off his coat and threw it on the ground.

The officer ordered Weir to put his hands behind his back and he began to walk away.

Reports show the officer again ordered Weir to stop, yet he continued to resist and the officer deployed his tazer.

Weir checked out by medically staff and then arrested for DWUI, eluding police, interference with a peace officer and not wearing a seat-belt.

He is being held in the detention center for $2,500 bond.
