Light up Lander

By  |

LANDER, Wyo. LIGHT UP LANDER WAS STARTED ABOUT FIFTEEN YEARS AGO BY FORMER MAYOR WOLF.
IT HAS CONTINUED SINCE, AND IS HAPPENING AGAIN TOMORROW.
ORGANIZERS SAY BASICALLY, IT'S A FOOD DRIVE, AND ALL THE FOOD THAT'S RAISED GOES DIRECTLY TO THE CHRISTMAS BASKET PROGRAM.
YOU BRING A CAN OF FOOD AND YOU GET A TICKET, WHICH GIVES YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN A BIKE.
THERE ARE ALSO OLD SCHOOL CARNIVAL GAMES AND SANTA COMES AT 3.
AND KIDS HAVE THE CHANCE TO SIT ON SANTA'S LAP..
Michelle Motherway: "That's the important thing about this event, it's not just one business it's not just one business entity, every business downtown has contributed in some way."
THIS IS A NO CASH EVENT. IT'S FREE TO ALL THE PUBLIC AND ANYONE CAN COME.
THE PARADE LINES UP AT 5:30 AND STARTS AT SIX.. IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN BEING IN THE LIGHT PARADE YOU DON'T HAVE TO REGISTER, BUT ORGANIZERS PREFER YOU DO, BY GOING THROUGH CITY HALL.
