Hedquist Construction Fined for Not Meeting Completion Dates

WYDOT has fined a construction company for failing to meet deadlines.

After months of requests for the contract status, the fines for Hedquist Construction managers are reported to be to over forty thousand dollars.

The Interstate-25 project started back in 2015, with an October deadline but crews didn't finish until December.

Road work then included three miles of repairs from Poplar Street to Wardell Road.

The project also included re-paving road surfaces and fixing the bridge.

WYDOT officials believe certain circumstances were likely a result in the project's delay.

Jeff Goetz reported, “It's not that we want to fine people or assess money or take away money from any contract. We really just want the job done."

The project's total price tag was roughly 16 million dollars.
