CASPER, Wyo. Over a thousand people attended the annual Candlelight Christmas event at the museum.
Actors portrayed what Christmas eve looked like back in 1865.
In addition, musicians played Christmas music common at the time.
The museum's manager says the event is more popular each year due to the authentic experience.
"Most everybody that visits the fort, you see it in the daytime and in the summer. So this is a completely different perspective on visiting the fort. Like I said, it's doing it the first week of December, it's a great way to kick off the whole Christmas season." Said Rick Young.
Candlelight Christmas is the museum's busiest day of the year.
