Department leaders are looking for the person responsible for killing and removing the head of a bull elk in the Bighorn Mountains.
The poacher left behind all edible parts of the animal.
The carcass was reported to Lovell's Game warden on September 27th, and the death was determined to be by an arrow.
The death was likely three or five days prior to being reported.
The warden says leaving an animal to waste and taking the head is one of the worst violations.
