Casper Council to Consider New Events Center Seats

Casper Events Center managers hope council members will approve necessary funds to replace arena seats.

The estimated price tag is around one million dollars.

The money would be used to buy news seats, make premium section upgrades, add ADA accessible viewing and metal detectors.

Seating replacements were last done in 2012.

Since, managers have seen increases in customer complaints resulting in a decline of performances and events the past five years.

Casper Events Center Director Brad Murphy told News 13, “We're hoping by end of late spring, maybe into next summer that we can be on track with these projects."

Murphy also hopes a contract will be secured soon with a company that will provide new seats.

He said it'll take roughly 12 to 16 weeks to sign a contract if council members approve the funding.
