CONVERSE COUNTY, Wyo. An official from Flordia-based Nextera Energy Resources met with Natrona County Commissioners on Tuesday to discuss the proposal.
Though the turbines would be in Converse County, it will still bring activity to Natrona.
Nextera will own half the turbines and sell the other half to Pacific Corp- the parent of Rocky Mountain Power.
"I understand the sensitivity of coal and natural gas and always having that as a baseload power resource but it's exciting to be able to introduce...into Wyoming...you know...this homegrown resource." Said Ryan Fitzpatrick, the project's director.
Fitzpatrick says crews plan to start construction in the fall of 2019, and that it should take about 15 months to complete.
