On October 17, 2016, Downtown Casper was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. May is Historic Preservation Month and we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the Casper Downtown Historic District. A reception is being held on Thursday, May 4th, while all month long Lou Taubert’s will be hosting a window display to celebrate the Historic District.
Ribbon cutting and event on Thursday, May 4th at 5 pm, during 2017’s first Art Walk for a ribbon cutting ceremony and proclamation on West 2nd Street, between David and Center.
Afterwards, residents of Casper are encouraged to join us for a reception with snacks and refreshments in the historic Turner-Cottman Building, 124 W 2nd Street.
Finally, you can join the reception at 6:30 p.m. when we will be guided to the Wells Fargo property, 104 S Wolcott, for a tour and discussion of the architecture and historic significance of the building and clock tower.
