Wyo. State Health Department staff detect an alarming rise in reported syphilis cases, especially in Fremont county.
Syphilis is primarily transmitted through unprotected sex.
So far in 2018, there have been 34 cases reported in the state, a 36 percent increase from last years reporting.
38 percent of this years cases come from Fremont county, making it an area of concern.
Earlier this year, officials said gonorrhea rates increased by fifty percent from 2016 to 2017.
The state also reported a rise in the number of Chlamydia cases.
