Buddhist Monk Visits Casper For Peace and Meditation

Stress, worry, and anxiety can be overwhelming, but one monk seeks to help people find inner peace.

Casper residents attended a meditation class tonight held by Gen Kelsang Rigpa, a Buddhist monk. Rigpa focused tonight's class on a book "How to Transform Your Life.", which he hope give tools for people finding peace and joy in their lives.

Rigpa who's the Western spiritual director from Los Angeles for Kadampa Buddhism, visited tonight because Casper is a missionary outreach city, all in an effort to spread world peace.

Although it's a Buddhist practice, Rigpa says meditation can be a tool for calming anyone who needs it.

"It’s an indispensable tool for people for people to learn how to develop inner peace because the world is so often busy, and there's a lot of stress for people. And meditation is an incredible tool for developing a peaceful mind."

Monthly meditations are held in Casper by the Kadampa monks. The monks say it's open to anyone.
