CASPER, Wyo. The Cheser family drove from Buffalo to Chugwater to help bury their 92-year-old grandfather Leonard Cheser.
He served as a 30-caliber machine-gunner during World War II and fought during the Battle of the Bulge.
Family members say Leonard's kind attitude was brought on by his childhood during the Great Depression.
"A lifelong cowboy. Grew up during the depression. Things were tough and he was a hard man. But he was also a gentle man. Just couldn't beat him for being just as honest as the day is long." Said Mike Cheser, Leonards son.
Leonard was buried today alongside his wife in Chugwater.
