CASPER, Wyo. House corporations, elections, and political subdivisions committee members passed the bill.
Right now, Wyoming voters only need to show a photo ID when registering.
The bill's sponsor, Chuck Gray of Casper, says an ID requirement is important to protect the ballot box's integrity and prevent voter fraud.
"This bill is about addressing this issue and having a voter I.D. requirement and we want to make sure that this problem is addressed." Said Chuck Gray.
36 states currently require voters to show some form of ID at the polls.
