18th Annual Awards and Recognition Breakfast

It was a packed house at the Casper Events Center Tuesday as people gathered to support Casper’s kids.
The 18th annual awards and recognition breakfast, held by the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming, thanks the organization's donors and put the spotlight on a few kids making a difference in the community.
Breakfast was followed by a ceremony including a speech by Governor Mead.
This year's event was held in honor of famous Casper television pioneer and philanthropist Bill Daniels.
Three teens from the Boys and Girls Club's "youth of the year" program were also honored.
"It means a lot to them. It definitely opens the door for them to a lot of experiences. The winner today gets 5-thousand dollar scholarship and then continues on to the state level. It definitely brightens their future and opens them up to the community members too to meet more of the people of Casper that support them and the Boys & Girls Club as well." - Chris Stier, Teen Director of Boys & Girls Club
Those in the program spend their time volunteering and mentoring younger kids at the club.
"Youth of the year" winner Sierra White will go on to represent the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming in the state competition.
