North Platte Fishing Area Could Change Ownership

The Natrona County Commissioners are fighting to obtain permanent access for anglers on a mile-long stretch of the North Platte River, and they are asking for help from Wyoming's congressional delegation.
The letter sent by the commission asks for help to obtain about $3 million from the Bureau of Land Management's Land and Water Conservation Fund to acquire the land on the river, about 20 miles southwest of Casper.
The Miles Land and Livestock Company owns the stretch of land on the Platte and has allowed anglers on the land through a year-to-year lease with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
