Wyoming State Government Hiring Dropping

Government hiring in Wyoming has dropped significantly over the past year.
A Department of Administration and Information official says state government hired or rehired about 800 employees from April 1st, 2009, through the end of the year.
He says nearly 1,800 were hired or rehired during the same period in 2008.
Governor Freudenthal's administration has given state agency directors more freedom to hire new employees in recent weeks, provided that they stay under budget.
