Green River's Martinez Signs with Pokes

GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (AP) -- Wyoming recruited just one high school athlete in-state for football this year.
Drew Martinez of Green River signed his national letter of intent to play football at UW on Wednesday.
Martinez played quarterback and defensive back for the Wolves, but is projected to play wide receiver for the Cowboys.
In his final two seasons at Green River, Martinez accounted for 4,400 yards of total offense, including 2,000 yards rushing. He scored 32 touchdowns through the air and on the ground and intercepted 12 passes.
Martinez was named the 2009 Wyoming 4A Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the 2008 All-State team as a quarterback and to the 2009 All-State team as a defensive back.
