UW Freshman Stepping Up

February 1, 2010
Reported by Associated Press

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) -- Freshmen stepped up to score more than half of Wyoming's points on Saturday against Air Force.
Desmar Jackson was among them, scoring a team-high 21 points. He made 10 of 13 shot attempts and scored in a variety of ways.
But the freshmen also certainly learned some lessons in their 70-63 loss. For instance, Jackson took an ill-advised shot at one point late in the game.
Coach Heath Schroyer blamed growing pains.
He says the freshman are getting a lot of experience because of injuries to starters.
