Mills Morning Fire

Fire District One officials responded to a fire in Mills that started shortly after midnight. Plastic pipes are burning in a WL Plastics storage area. Officials cleared the area since the fumes can be harmful and possibly cancer causing. Officials say this is the largest fire of this magnitude in the area, with an estimated $8 to $10 million in property damage. A couple power lines collapsed causing more than 760 people to lose power.

Viewer George Herden sent in these photos of the fire- Just off Pyrite road. Herden says he saw the flames from Casper-Natrona County International Airport.

Chief of public safety at CNCIA Mike Hendershot says the airport lost power between 2AM and 3:30AM. Hendershot says no flight delays are expected.

Viewers say flames and smoke are clearly visibile from yellowstone highway, even from paradise valley.

Fire investigators are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
