Fat Bike Enduro

CASPER, WY - Some people may think biking is only a warm weather sport, but a group of mountain bike enthusiasts take their love of riding to the next level on top of Casper Mountain Sunday.

The Casper Fat Bike Club hosted their Enduro Race. The mile long race started on top of Casper Mountain and ended in the Bear Trap Meadow parking lot.

Fat bikes are designed for heavy snow conditions in the winter.

The tires range from four to five inches across, instead of the standard two inches on normal mountain bikes.

"The bike shops in town, mountain sports and ragged edge sports are donating the bikes for us to use. So for the eliminator event we only need four bikes, and we have for rentals, or demos. We'll be all set," said Fat Bike Casper President Adam Leiferman

The race today is roughly one mile and club members shuttle people up to the top to race down again and again.

Participation is free and open to the public. The next event is the fat bike eliminator on March 6th.
