Samantha Gonzales spent the day at Frontier Middle School to watch students cheer on their classmates competing in this year's Special Olympics.
Students from Frontier Middle school, Manor Heights elementary, Centennial junior high and Casper Classical Academy lit up the stands Thursday.
Fourteen athletes played one round of bowling, soccer, and volleyball. The director of special education says it's a nice break from their day- to- day routine.
The participants weren't the only ones smiling, coordinators say the whole crowd enjoys the event just as much.
