10-Year-Old Casper Boy Receives Gift of a Lifetime

A 10-year-old Casper boy diagnosed with a rare recessive neurological disease could hardly contain his excitement as he receives the gift of a lifetime.

Mike Rone of Sonny's RV's says, "He said this is just what I've been waiting for. It just gives you goosebumps."

The Make-A-Wish Foundation helped Christian Bayer smile from ear to ear this afternoon as he walked into Sonny's RV's to find his very own RV camper waiting for him.

Christi Bayer, Christian's Mother says, "It's an opportunity for him to get out and enjoy what he loves most, which is to be outside... [Christian is] now completely focused on 'I can't wait to get out there, I can't wait to go camping, I want to catch a big trout."

Rob Bayer, Christian's Father says, "I think he's feeling pretty quote unquote normal. He's feeling like a ten-year-old little boy with a whole lot on his mind. And I think he's feeling some freedom and some space, some normalcy."

Mike Rone of Sonny's RV's says this camper is a great choice for the whole family. "We found them the perfect camper. It's a bunk house model and it sleeps the whole family and we're very excited to give something like this."

Rone says the business has always been a strong supporter of of the Make-A-Wish campaign

"It's indescribable. Just seeing his face today made all this hard work and effort worthwhile. I'd be happy to do it again."

Rone says for the next 30 days, for every camper trailer sold at Sonny's RV's, $250 will be donated in the customer's name to the Make-A-Wish foundation to help grant wishes of other children battling dangerous medical conditions.
