Skiers and Boarders Gearing Up for Weekend Special Olympics Winter Games

On Friday, January 26, 2018 Special Olympics Wyoming athletes from Wyoming’s central communities of CASPER and DOUGLAS will compete at Area IV Winter Games at Hogadon Basin Ski Area.

This competition is in preparation for the State Winter Games that will be held in Jackson, WY on February 6-8, 2018. State Winter Games is one of the four main Special Olympics Wyoming competition events held each year. Athletes compete in Downhill Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing and Snowboarding.

The 2018 Area V Winter Games schedule for Friday, January 26th at Hogadon Basin Ski Area is as follows:
• 8:00 AM Registration at Competition Sites
• 8:45 AM Opening Ceremonies
• 9:00 AM Competition Begins
• 11:00 Lunch (as athletes are able)
• 12:00 PM Competition Resumes

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend to support and cheer on local athletes as they qualify for upcoming statewide competition.
