A new emission reduction pilot program has been issued by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality and the first phase of the program focuses on reducing diesel emissions with federal grant funding.
The program applies funding from three different federal sources including:
• Diesel Emission Reduction Act Funds
• Pinedale Anticline Project Office Funds
• Volkswagen Settlement Funds
All aimed at providing incentives for projects that make direct emission reduction impacts in Wyoming.
Brian Hall, Outreach Manager for DEQ said, “This is the first of many exciting funding opportunities where we can work together to reduce emissions in Wyoming.”
Qualified applicants include Wyoming state and local government entities, schools and industries that have older diesel equipment vehicles.
Hall added that applications are due on January 26, 2018.
