A winter storm will begin affecting western Wyoming on Friday and will spread heavy snow eastward through Saturday and into early Sunday.
The storm could bring significant snowfall to portions of western Wyoming later tonight and Friday. The snowfall will then shift to areas of central and southern Wyoming Friday night, and last through Saturday night. Significant snowfall late Friday night through Saturday night could occur mainly south and east of a line from Green River to Riverton to Kaycee.
This event will be the first widespread potential for heavy snow across a large portion of the state since around mid-December.
Winter Storm Warning southern Lincoln, most of Sweetwater County, Southeast Fremont and most of Southeast Fremont and most of Natrona county from 2 AM MST Saturday until 5 AM MST Sunday. Winter Weather Advisory in effect for portions of Sublette, most of Fremont, a portion of Natrona and along Big Horn mountains for most of Johnson and into Big Horn County, WY from 2 AM MST Saturday until 5 AM MST Sunday.
Winter Storm Watches are in affect Saturday morning through Sunday Afternoon for Albany, Carbon, Converse, Platte, and Niobrara Counties.
Expect all Winter Storm Watches to change into Winter Storm Warnings within the next 24 hours.
