Visitors Flocking for Eclipse Festival

The excitement is here and so is the traffic.

Don't forget, there are ways to avoid it this weekend while taking in the Eclipse Festival.

"We've got several major parking locations around the city. We did that so we don't have a ton of cars trying to come downtown or really navigate our streets,” says Visitor Happiness Guru Rebekah Ladd. “So that is Eastridge Mall, Casper Events Center, or the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds."

Not everyone experienced trouble making their way around town.

One group says they have almost nothing to worry about.

"We really thank our sister for letting us all come here. There will probably be about twenty of us [by] the time they all get here. There [are] still some coming in from Utah," says visitor Donna White.

You may have seen a few out of town license plates from all over the United States, but the board across from the Fox Theatre on 2nd Street indicates people are here from every corner of the planet.

With so many people in Casper safety is a concern; but thanks to extensive preparation, everyone locally and from Brisbane Australia can enjoy the Wyoming Eclipse Festival.

"We have people visiting from all over the world. We want to make sure that they're safe, they don't get dehydrated, they don't get sick, don't get hurt, and I think we're going to accomplish that mission,” says community emergency response team supervisor Nic Skalicky.

Local businesses are also accomplishing their own mission by putting their best foot forward.

Thanks to that initiative, Casper has already made an impression and a global mark on the map.
