Top 10 Marathon Reaching for Wyoming Runners

One of America’s Top 10 Marathons is seeking participants from Wyoming.

The Eugene Marathon needs a runner or two from Wyoming and is willing to waive all registration fees. This week the Eugene Marathon received a race entry from a resident West Virginia, giving the race participants from 49 states, Canada and Germany.

Wyoming and West Virginia are the only two states without a participant signed-up yet.

“Now we’re only missing runners from Wyoming says Eugene Marathon Race Director Richard Maher. “We’re going to waive full or half marathon race registration fees for the first residents of Wyoming who contact us. We want to hit all 50 states for our fourth
consecutive year.”

This year’s 12th annual Eugene Marathon weekend is April 27-29. The 2017 race weekend included participants from Mexico, Brazil, Germany, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom,Chile, Costa Rica and all parts of Canada including Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec, Alberta and
British Columbia.

Races include the annual Kid’s Duck Dash (1K) and Run TrackTown 5K on Saturday, followed by the Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday.

The Eugene Marathon has been featured as a Top 10 marathon in Runner’s World magazine and has received the top ranking from Marathon & Beyond magazine.

The innovative event includes a famous pancake breakfast, a health & wellness expo, a Saturday night yoga DJ session and the opportunity to tour many historic running landmarks.

The event is in Eugene Oregon, often referred to as TrackTown USA.

The races all finish at Historic Hayward Field, the modern birthplace of running in America.

It was on this track where Nike co-founders Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight established their friendship.

Hayward has hosted more US Olympic Track & Field trials than any single track, is the permanent home of the NCAA Track & Field Championships for another decade and will host the 2021 IAAF World Championships.
