Spring Sports Come to Casper Rec. Center

Improve coordination, strength and flexibility with the Casper Recreation Center’s Youth Sports classes beginning in March or April.

The Gym Jam class for toddlers age 18 months-3 years and their parents is held on Saturday morning from 9:15-9:55 am beginning March 18. This class will create an enriching parent/child environment focusing on movement, tumbling, games, music, and social interaction.

Tot Tumbling is for ages 3-4 and held on Wednesday from 4:30-5:10 pm. Children will have fun learning to tumble and be introduced to gymnastic equipment including balance beam, vault and bars. Youth Beginning Gymnastics is for ages 6 and over and is held on Wednesday from 5:15-6:15 pm, or Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am. Advanced Beginning/Intermediate Gymnastics is for ages 6 and up who have taken the beginning class and have permission from the instructors to move up. The class is held Saturday from 11:05 am-12:30 pm. Children will work on tumbling moves, balance beam, vault and uneven bars. Saturday classes begin March 18 and Wednesday classes begin March 22.

A new Cheerleading Clinic for ages 8-12 will meet Thursday from 4:30-5:30 pm beginning April 6. Students will learn stunts, jumps, chants and cheers while being active and working with other team members. Katie Tharp has coached cheerleading since high school and has attended national competitions.
