Snow Day in Wyoming? How Would You Know?

If you have kids in a Natrona County School here is a reminder of what to expect when you wake up to severe weather or that favored winter storm.

You will receive either a text, call or email by 5:30 in the morning.

Staff said you must have a child registered with NCSD and be signed up at the ‘Parent Portal’ to receive alerts.

Safety is the priority in making closure decisions.

NCSD Spokeswomen Tanya Southerland shared, “The whole reason why school would be closed for inclement weather would be due to student safety. If the roads were unsafe too drive on and our buses couldn't to and from school."

Southerland added NCSD staff work with WYDOT the National Weather Service and other agencies the night before and morning of bad weather around 4:00 am to make the final decision.
