Sheridan Police Investigate Recent Murder

At approximately 11:13 p.m. on January 10, 2018, the Sheridan Police Department received a report of an alleged homicide at 1410 North Main Street in Sheridan.

A man reported that a friend,identified as Christopher Macloughlin Labuy (33), knocked on his apartment door and stated he had shot a man in another apartment in the building.

Responding Sheridan Police Department officers arrived on scene and arrested Labuy.

Officers and Rocky Mountain Ambulance staff located the victim and determined he had died from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Detectives determined that probable cause existed to arrest Labuy for first degree murder.

Labuy was turned over to the Sheridan County Jail.

Names and further information will be released once appropriate notifications are made.

There is no danger to the community and there are no further suspects in this investigation.
