Do you have a cause that you believe in? Well some young adults do, and they're running across the country to raise awareness of cancer. On Tuesday, runners with 4K for Cancer stopped over in Casper along the journey.
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults is an organization that changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults and their loved ones impacted by cancer. 4K for Cancer runners are raising money for the fund, and they are meeting patients along the way. Runners distributed chemotherapy care bags to patients at the Rocky Mountain Oncology Treatment Center Tuesday.
Runner Kristyn Valentine may be a running enthusiast, but this cause hits close to home for her.
“I've lost grandparents, numerous family members, way too young or just way too soon,” Kristyn said. “I've seen friends be affected by it, basically everyone be affected by it. It doesn't discriminate, and I really wanted to find a way to help."
The runners started in San Francisco and will continue to run to New York City.
