Not Guilty Plea Issued by Forgery Suspect

A Casper man pleaded not guilty today to exploiting a vulnerable adult and check fraud charges for writing more than 35 checks.

45-year-old Roy Davis was booked into the detention center for the charges.

Court papers said Davis and his wife had built a large amount of debt and reportedly wrote the checks to pay off the debt.

He then admitted to sheriff's investigators he forged the checks and collected more than 19-thousand dollars from the victim.

The checks go back as far as April 2017.

Davis told investigators he had done wrong by writing the checks.
