Over 8,000 passengers used the airport this May.
This is over a 5% increase in traffic compared to May of last year.
The first two months of 2017 did not see a noticeable increase in passenger count, but the last three months have been better.
Airport director Glenn Januska says Casper's success in the energy industry and other parts of the economy may have been the spark for this increase.
More people are moving back into the area for business with a better economy.
"Now that we're starting to see some increases of passengers, we're hoping that’s going to be a nice increasing trend,” Januska added. “The economy does better, more people using the airport, and certainly that means a positive indicator for the other businesses in the community.
Since this positive trend mainly relies on the stability of Casper's economy, it is hard for the airport staff to predict a continuing trend.
