Laundry Room Fire Extinguished at Parkway Plaza Thursday Night

Shortly before 5:30 pm Thursday, Casper Fire-EMS units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Parkway Plaza Hotel, located at 1 Parkway Plaza Drive.

Several parties reported smoke coming from the rear of the building. Arriving units found a fire located in the hotel’s laundry area producing large volumes of smoke. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and ventilated residual smoke from the building.

Two persons on scene were evaluated for possible smoke inhalation; none were transported to area hospitals. Damage was confined to the area of the laundry room, and all residents of the hotel were able to return to their rooms.

Six units from Casper Fire-EMS responded to the scene, along with an ambulance from Wyoming Medical Center, and officers from the Casper Police Department.

Through an inter-agency partnership agreement, an investigator with the Natrona County Fire District responded to the scene, and will assume primary investigation responsibility.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as of the time of this release.
