There have been twenty-eight more deaths compared to last year in Fremont County a total of 259 recorded deaths this year.
That's in the Fremont County Coroner's 2017 quarterly summary.
The report indicates 37% of these deaths are drug- and alcohol-related, significantly higher than last year’s 55 % of non-natural deaths.
The summary also shows traffic fatalities and homicides are trending down while vehicular deaths more than doubled.
Suicides are up three times the natural average, to eight.
Single vehicle rollovers and driver intoxications are the leading causes of death.
