The FEMA Emergency Institute held a virtual training session with state educators, state veterinarians and livestock board representatives today.
The virtual training course took place at University of Wyoming-Casper where participants collaborated on livestock evacuation methods for natural disasters such as wildfires, floods and snow storms.
The virtual training session gave hypothetical scenarios involving livestock evacuation requirements.
They spent time talking about the resources in place and which need to be developed to protect livestock.
The training session is intended to promote stronger Wyoming agriculture.
