In its third year, the art walk in Downtown Casper gives local artists the chance to show off their skills.
I spent some time downtown today to see what the buzz is all about.
Food, art, music and much more.
The art walk showcases talent within our community.
"I believe that this is a huge opportunity for the community to get together and support the local artists. We have a lot of talented musicians… me and my group being one of them," said business owner and musician, Jacquie Anderson.
Local artists taking over sidewalks downtown, together with participating business owners.
"The art walk, every year we see more and more involvement."
Anderson owns Jacquie’s Bistro and performs in multiple local bands, but that doesn't slow her down for a performance with the Corey McDaniel duo.
Around the corner, more businesses are seen offering space to those looking to showcase their craft to the community.
"I think it's one of the best things that can be. I don’t look at it as a night to sell as far as merchandise is concerned. I look at it as a night for us to sell ourselves, our downtown, our stores," said business owner, Judy Anderson.
Many participating in the art walk, as business owners and artists, feel the night goes beyond their craft, allowing them a chance to network.
More importantly, network with the community.
The art walk takes place on the first Thursday of every month, through the end of the year.
