Homelessness among veterans remains a growing concern in Wyoming.
According to Wyoming Public Media nearly 800 Wyomingites were homeless in 2015.
It is unclear if veterans were accounted for in that group; however in the same year Governor Matt Mead launched his Homelessness Tenure Program in efforts to reduce homelessness.
Wyoming homeless shelter groups continue to battle the growing problem as best they can.
It is still uncertain if homeless veteran numbers have increased or decreased.
Dave Matthews Program Director at Wyoming Rescue Mission shared, “There is still a lot of veteran homelessness around the country. Casper is really coming together with some opportunities to get them into housing faster than, historically used to be the case."
Matthews also said no matter the weather conditions, they see the same amount of homeless veterans year round.
