Fort Washakie students took a break from books to experience different tribal cultures last week.
Students gathered in the school auditorium for a pow-wow.
Performers sang and danced to cultural music while showing off hula skills.
Students got to participate in performances and stations of common Indian traditions.
Performer Lane Jensen shared, "There’s not so much exposure maybe within the community not really showing too much of Native American songs or stories it’s always good to come into the schools let them know."
Performers came all the way from Arizona to represent Navajo and Mericopa tribes.
