Casper Man Pleads Not Guilty to Check Fraud Charges

A Casper man pleaded not guilty Friday to exploiting a vulnerable adult, and check fraud charges for forging 35 checks.

45-year-old Roy Davis was booked into the detention center for the charges.

Court papers say Davis and his wife had built a large amount of debt and reportedly wrote the checks to pay off the debt.

He then admitted to sheriff's investigators he forged the checks and collected more than $19,000 from the victim.

The checks go back as far as April 2017.
Davis told investigators he had done wrong by writing the checks.
