Parents got a chance to see proper car seat installation methods on Friday.
The annual Child Car Safety event staff showed parents how to secure their bundle of joy's car seat.
Many parents showed up to the event with their own suggestions for other parents.
They recommend consulting your child's pediatrician before buying a booster or car seat.
Parent Megan Fleetwood shared with News 13, "Pediatrician regulates over our well child checks when we bring our children in what height they are what weight they are and if they need to possible move up to a bigger car seat."
Fleetwood reminded parents all new car seats must meet safety standards, so picking the perfect carrier is the parent's preference.
Event staff said the first step to a safe ride is knowing your vehicles owner's manual and the car seat manual before installing.
The annual event is a part of child passenger safety week.
